Random words

Random Association is an idea generation method which allows students to systematically generate new ideas through a fixed formula. The whole premise of Random Association is to use a Random Word to provoke a reaction from the brain.

Random Word technique is indeed the most basic and obviously creative technique where you use a random word to generate new ideas. By getting a random word as a prompt and enabling yourself to use it to solve your problems and you are practically guaranteed to attack the problem from a different direction to normal. You take a word from a random word generator, extract its underlying principles and then apply them to your problem to see how they can help. The skill is stopping your mind from

(a ) thinking this is silly

(b)  directly using the actual principles behind the word to your problem without changing them to    ones which are easier to apply.

Our task this week was about to design a  scary image or object based on  a random word - KITTEN. We were required to something that is creepy or terror that will make people feel scared from entering the place.

This is a mind map that for my ideation. I jot my ideas down based on the random word given, kitten.

This is my final output was based on the word - SHARP. It is a construct that looks like a giant dark pandemonium that will create the atmosphere of eerie to the visitors who passed by the area. It is a compilation of all huge and tall sharp pillar and the ground was designed with the effects of blood splashing, and skeletons could be seen everywhere on the ground. This is only a visual effect that will make people frightened upon approaching this place.  The sharp thorn at the top of this construct may frighten off the people.  This is a normal phenomena as we dread of something that is sharp and may cut, hurt or harm our lives.
Thus, for me, the overall design of this edifice is able to instill fear among people.
